Fall is under way in our new home. Here is a birch trunk in a birch forest near Alpena, Michigan, on an overcast day. It was truly a magical experience; the solitude, the gorgeous colors among the boughs of the forest, and the soft cool breeze that invigorated my hike. I’ve been to Rockport State Park a few times since we have moved up this way, and the first time I saw this birch forest, I knew that autumn would be beyond words here. I’m happy to say that I was right! 😉
